I have had these units in storage for a while. They have been tested and are working flawlessly. When Apple released this unit, the USB port was supposed to be used to diagnose the device if it had any problems. Some "Genius" figured out how to hack the device so that the USB port could be used as a connection for an external hard drive. This has the program installed; it's called XBMC.
The one downside I hated about these devices when they were released was that the only way to power them down was to unplug them. XBMC allows you to power off the device. If you look at the pictures, there is one with a red stage. In the bottom left, there are two buttons. You navigate to the one on the right, and it gives you options.
It comes with the remote, power cord, and original box. I stopped using these units when smart TVs came out with USB ports on the side.
You can still load movies on the device. If you go to YouTube, there are several videos on how to do it.
