Beautiful antique or closely approaching 835 Silver Iris glass necklace. This one is a very wearable length at 20 inches. It has a spring ring clasp, and near the clap it is Marked 835 with a makers mark, which I believe says FBM. This jewelry was very popular in Europe and overseas in the Art Deco period. It’s in great condition
Among the treasures of Czech glass history, glass jewellery and beads hold a special and esteemed status. One notable creation from the early 1900s is Iris Glass, crafted by incorporating three distinct coloured sections into crystal clear glass. This technique aimed to emulate the ethereal hues sometimes observed in natural clear quartz, when fractures or plains within the crystal structure disperse white light, revealing internal spectral colours. Iris Glass often features soft, delicate pastel tones of green, red, and blue colors. Iris glass was very popular in the Art Deco period 1920 to 1930’s.
