Large Amber? and Sterling Silver Ring

This is a very large ring measuring 1.5" across. It is a size 7.5. The stone looks to be amber but I am not sure if it is real amber or not. There are definitely lots of debris inside the stone and some air bubbles as well. The stone seems to be pretty scratchable because it does have several light scratches on it. There is a flaw with the ring. There appears to be a splinter of what appears to be wood, that is lodged under the stone. You can see it in photo #2 and the wood is NOT part of the stone because it moves back and forth under the stone. I am not sure how it got under there and do not see a way to get it out. There are some light scratches on the silver and on the stone and the band of the ring is slightly mishapen but not bad enough to make it difficult to wear. The only markings on the ring is the silver 925 mark. The weight of the ring is 19.3g. (Bin#MSP4)
