Ok fan collectors, here’s a cool one for you! Or, maybe you’re an airplane/jet enthusiast? Or, maybe you just want a cool MCM branded personal fan to keep you cool at your desk or in your bed? For all of you, I introduce you to the Vintage Swank “Jet Engine Fan.” That’s right, a fan that looks like a jet engine with an imbedded tangential fan.
What is a tangential, or cross flow fan? Crossflow fans draw air in perpendicular to the axis of rotation (imagine it coming in from the side of the cylindrical blade assembly) and also expel it perpendicularly in a wide, uniform stream. They create maximum airflow with minimum pressure. This one looks so cool encased in a chrome heavy plastic shaped like a jet engine. The base and legs are a heavy sturdy metal to keep the fan upright. A revolving airflow guide lets you position the airflow for lower or higher cooling. Comes complete with original box and has been barely used. If you want to be “vintage cool”, you’ll want this fan! ;-)
