Tested and working,
Replaced the ribbon.
I cleaned the exterior but there is an area underneath the ribbon that has many small white specks which are shavings from the white correction tape. I tried blowing them out with high powered air but they will not clean unless wiped by hand and I cannot access it.
Using solid black ribbon would prevent this or possibly the high dollar correction tape. I'm guessing this is normal for all these typewriters.
Tested and works. See last picture.
