Antique Civil War Union Promotion Document. In overall good condition. The back of frame has a tear, but that doesn't affect the document. The document is a promotion to first Sargent on September 1865. According to the auction house I bought this from: “This Union document is in 19 1/8" x 14 1/8th" frame. It reads that it is a promotion to first Sargent In September 1865 and mentions Lee's Volunteers and maybe the 138th Illinois Infantry but it is hard to make out. This is full of research possibilities. An antique/vintage item will be included for purchases $100+!
