Listed for your consideration is an original leather graduation program from 1905 Jefferson Medical College. It was considered the leading medical school of the era. Two of the 1905 graduates were critical to the Allied efforts and became surgeon generals, each rising to the rank of Major General. James Carre Magee, of Pennsylvania, as a Major General, served as Surgeon General of the Army under President Franklin D. Roosevelt from 1939 to 1943. He thus had the responsibility for possibly the most complex medical program in any major U.S. war.
Another distinguished member of the class was Howard McCrum Snyder of Wyoming. He served for more than 50 years in many parts of the world in the many parts of the world in the Army Medical Corps in which he rose to the rank of Major General.
