2 1944 typewritten letters signed by C.A. Reynolds, one of two vice-presidents of the H.D. Lee Co. Garment Manufacturers, Kansas City, MO addressed to Corporal Paul J. Scholz. Reynolds founded the Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Center in Oklahoma. Scholz worked with Reynolds before his army service. Reynolds shared news of mutual acquaintances, but even more he encouraged him. "Things in the factory are about as they were; we are short of help, too many idle machines, but those who are working are doing a pretty good job turning out garments, however, the amount we are making for the Navy greatly handicapped our civilian production, but, of course, we are not complaining about what we are making for either the army or navy, because you boys come first with us in anything that takes place. We want to get this war over and then we can all meet, celebrate and start working and planning for the future." Both letters have fold lines, but one has a short tear on the bottom.
