An original watercolor painting titled “French Cottage - Wash Day” by Missouri artist Herman A. Scharhag (1924-2012). Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Scharhag was a World War II veteran who served in the European Theater as an United States Army artilleryman. A graduate of the University of Missouri School of Mines in Rolla, Scharhag moved to the Kansas City area after the war with his wife and was an architect for over 40 years. He was also a well-known local watercolor artist and was very involved with the Kansas City, Missouri, art community. This work comes in a metallic gold colored frame, is matted, and protected by plexiglass. It measures approximately 20 1/4” by 24 1/4” and is very light in weight. There is foxing or spotting in the upper right section of the matting and I would advise double matting and replacing. I sell quality original art pieces, prints, and lithos so check back often.
