Striking Native American wedding vase from Christine Tosa of Jemez Pueblo Pottery, exhibiting traditional craftsmanship and artistry. The vase centers on the symbolism of union, love, & commitment, w/ two spouts representing the bride & groom, connected by a handle symbolizing their joined lives.
C. Tosa was born in 1950 into the Jemez Pueblo, New Mexico. She was inspired to learn the art of pottery making from her Mother-in-Law, the late Persingula Tosa at the age of 12. All of her pottery comes from Mother Earth, start to finish. She digs up her own clay, mixes, shapes, paints and fires her pottery, the traditional way, outdoors. One side of the vase has an imperfection that appears to have lifted some paint when it was taped, picture #5.
5.75 x 3.5 inches.
