VINTAGE PORTUGUESE HAND CRAFTED CERAMIC TILE TRIVET TRAY

This is a Portuguese hand painted tile serving tray, also known as a trivet, with a wooden frame and handles. The ceramic tile in the center is decorated with a blue and white floral and fruit basket design in the style of traditional Portuguese azulejos. The word "PORTUGAL" is inscribed on the tile. The item is designed for serving or can be used as a decorative piece. These items are handcrafted and feature traditional Portuguese tile designs
The tiles are typically hand-painted in Portugal.
The trivet can be used to protect surfaces from hot dishes or as a decorative piece. This is from my collection of vintage kitchen items that I am downsizing. It has only been used as decor and I’ve had it for over 35 years.
