Although the 'Wards xp500 a' cannot really be regarded as a special camera, it is quite rare to find a copy. Cameras with the brand name 'Wards' were only supplied by mail order company and department store Montgomery Ward & Co in Chicago. Various existing Japanese brand cameras were transformed into a Wards camera for the American store chain. Behind this Wards xp500 a is a Konica EE-Matic S, a 35mm rangefinder camera with automatic exposure by means of a honeycomb-selenium light measuring cell and program shutter with presets from 10-200ASA. The lens is a Hexar 2.8 / 45 mm. The Wards xp500 a was produced from 1964 by Konishiroku Kogaku, Japan (Konica).
