This is Captain Henry Morgan, a privateer pirate leader in the West Indies 1635-1688. He carried out commissions for the British during this time. His attack on Panama violated the peace treaty between England and Spain. This beautiful handpainted character jug is from Royal Carlton. It was designed by Gary Sharpe and issued from 1958-1982. He is painted in black tricorn, blue collar trimmed in gold. The handle is a pistol. He is made of ceramic and porcelain and measures 6.75" tall. He's in great vintage condition!
