Gilded along the outside edge as well as the scallop shell,
square shape with rounded edges
quilted, corn-like back-drop making them simply delicious.
This plate is so lovely and unique with its five detailed oysters in different sizes and shapes and heavily detailed background giving so much movement and depth to this plate.
And my favorite detail are in the oyster insets where the small painted shell sports eye lashes
placement of the very realistic hand painted oyster wells.
There are also two little oyster shaped shells painted a beautiful pale peach color along with a shell shaped condiment well outlined in gold. Each oyster is lightly brushed with a very light blue wash and then decorated with the oyster mark in brown with pink accents then outlined in blue. The oyster well painting gives an almost watercolor effect to the oyster shell. There is an Added bonus to this Plate, as it has a plate hanger built into back
