<p><br />Yerba Mate offers an uplifting quality with a vegetal, earthy and slightly toasty flavour.<br /> <br />Yerba Mate is an organic, green variety of yerba Mate leaf which is sourced from Brazil. There are no other ingredients or additives in this product. Native to South America, yerba mate was traditionally consumed by the indigenous Guarana and Tupi peoples for its high caffeine content and rich antioxidant properties. Caffeine has a stimulating effect on the nervous system and can support energy production, vitality and mental clarity. <br /><br />The naturally occurring caffeine content in a cup of yerba mate tea is approximately 80mg per cup, which is slightly less than the caffeine content in a cup of coffee. However, it is commonly reported that many of the negative effects often experienced from the caffeine in coffee, such as anxiety, energy slumps and poor sleep quality, are not experienced after yerba mate.<br /><br /><em>The clear pouch that holds this tea is made from a renewable plant-based cellophane and can easily be home composted. The cardboard is made from post-consumer recycled board, is printed with vegetable-based inks and can also be home composted after use.</em></p><p>The presence of polyphenols offers abundant antioxidant properties.
