No Way Out (1987) is a neo-noir political thriller directed by Roger Donaldson and based on Kenneth Fearing’s novel The Big Clock. The film stars Kevin Costner as Navy Lieutenant Commander Tom Farrell, who becomes entangled in a web of deception and murder within the Pentagon. After a brief affair with Susan Atwell (Sean Young), who is also the mistress of Secretary of Defense David Brice (Gene Hackman), Susan is found dead.
