Hex drive systems are driven with a wrench.Monel, also known as Nickel-Copper Alloy 400, has exceptional strength and resistance to heat and corrosion. It is slightly magnetic, and is especially well suited for use near salt water. In comparison to steel, Monel can be difficult to machine and needs to be worked at slow speeds. Rockwell hardness is a minimum of B80, and minimum tensile strength is 80,000 psi. A threaded fastener's size name includes information about the major external diameter, followed by the threads per inch, which indicates if it is coarse or fine. Coarse threads are better when working with brittle materials; they are sturdier and are easier to thread and unthread compared to fine. Coarse threading also allows for thicker coatings and platings.
