Rare vintage Austin Prod Modernist sculpture from 1964 styled after Henry Moore's "Family Group" bronze sculpture from the early 1950's.
Salvador Dali inspired
This abstract sculpture depicts a mom and dad sitting close together on a bench holding their small child in dad's lap. The big curved, rounded forms are typical of Henry Moore's fluid sculptural style. The back of the bench is inscribed "© AUSTIN PROD. INC. - 1964". The side is inscribed by the artist's name that I can't make out (see CU photo).
It stands 14" tall by 8" wide by 7.5" deep, and weighs about 12 lbs. It's in very good vintage condition with no cracks or breaks
This is a very hard to find Austin piece and a real find for any fan of Henry Moore’s abstract sculptures.
