I completed my graduation from Rohilkhand University, with an intention of becoming a school teacher. Since hood, I always had an inclination toward creative activities. During my college days, I participated in fairs, where I exhibited my handcrafted items. People appreciated my crafts and also purchased them. I got married in 2006 and shifted to Delhi. This is when I actually thought of implementing my hobby into a career, instead of becoming a teacher. I started designing and crafting for some local retailers who dealt in Christmas ornaments, sculptures, toys, etc. A lady in the neighborhood who used to work with an export house taught me the orientation, technique and intricacies of crafting the ornaments. It was in 2010 that I decided to start out on my own. Now I have a small workshop of my own with four ladies to assist me. I mostly do the designing, while the other ladies craft the ornaments. My husband takes care of the logistics and finance."...
