This is Gullah Sweetgrass Basket was purchased in 1995 in the low country near Savannah. This is one of the oldest African artforms passed through the descendants of slaves. Pet free, non-smoking home. Original owner, care has been taken with the basket, but there are some wear and tear issues given its age. Please see photos for any condition issues. Measures 14-11-6 inches.
Beautiful basket, historic and beautifully woven. Gullah. Traditional weaving skills.
