The brass hexagon with the material number 2.0401 is made of a copper-zinc-lead alloy. The copper content is approx. 57-59%, zinc - in 36-40% and lead - 2.5-3.5%. CuZn39Pb3 is the leading alloy for cutting machining in Germany. In particular, the material is suitable for processing in vending machines. 6-point brass can also be drilled well, but at the same time has a low corrosion resistance. The material can be moulded very well in hot and only limited cold form (due to the risk of stress corrosion cracking). Due to cold formability, high hardness and strength are achieved. Brass hexagon has very good machinability and can be welded well smooth and strong. For welding 2.0401, resistance welding is best recommended. Avoid other welding methods. The 6-point brass is well polished mechanical and very well electroplated. Hexagonal brass with the designation CuZn39Pb3 Ms58 finds a common application in different areas.
