A comprehensive system with pre- and post-treatment was provided to a large company in Canada. The RO system has a 600 GPD capacity. Since its initial startup, the machine has been operating with minimal issues. Reverse osmosis technology is effective in removing salts and other contaminants from non-potable water sources using a high-pressure pump. This pump is designed to overcome the osmotic pressure of a natural process called 'osmosis'. Naturally, osmosis carries salt through a semi-porous membrane from a low-salt-concentration area to a high-salt-concentration area. It aims to achieve equal salt concentration on both sides of the membrane. To reverse this natural process and obtain purified water, reverse osmosis uses a high-pressure pump to direct osmosis in the opposite direction. The pump applies high pressure to the highly concentrated salt side of the membrane, aggressively pushing saltwater and other contaminants through the membrane, allowing only water molecules to pass. The salt and other contaminants are blocked and drained on the concentrate side, while the purified water exits and is ready for collection on the permeate side.
