- DESIGN---This is a buchner funnel made of borosilicate glass, on top of the funnel-shaped part there is a cylinder with a sealed in perforated glass disc using with filter paper.The liquid to be filtered is poured into the cylinder and drawn through the fritted glass disc. This desgin solve the contamination problem with fritted disc and also the blindness problem with ceramic buchner funnel.
- ADVANTAGE & FUNCTION----A buchner funnel using vacuum suction for filtration can proceed filtration more quickly than common simple filter funnel via the force of gravity.It is commonly used in organic chemistry to collect recrystallized compounds.This buchner funnel is usually used with a filtering funnel with side hose connection to a vacuum source,a rubber buchner flask adapter,and vacuum pump,vacuum tubing.It is not recommended for filtration where pressure would exceed 15psi.
- DIMENSIONS------.The outer diameter of the glass disc plate is 90mm.The height above plate is 90mm. The total height is 230mm.The capacity of the cylinder is 500mL.
- HEAVY WALL ---This buchner funnel is heavy-wall designed , made by hand-blowing according to ASTM E438 ,made of high-quality borosilicate glass and annealed at 800 degree Celsius ,can be heated directly in an open flame and can withstand typical laboratory thermal variations in Chemistry processes like heating and cooling,durable and reusable.
