Paper discs should only be mounted on machines with an appropriate plate. Discs and plates that are damaged or deformed should not be used. Neither discs nor plates should be modified. Make sure the disc is firmly fixed and centered on the plate. The diameter of the disc should be at least 2 mm larger than that of the plate, but not more than 4 mm. You should only start sanding when the machine has reached its maximum speed, except in the case of roto-orbital pneumatic machines, which must be started with light pressure on the disc. The machine should work with as small a disc angle to the workpiece as possible. When sanding with velgrip discs, at first exert only light pressure. Do not allow the disc to overheat. After use place the machine carefully: the surface of the abrasive should not be in contact with the ground or workbench.
