This expanding mandrel comprises a tapered arbor and a flexible sleeve, typically seated using an arbor press. By adjusting the sleeve along the arbor, various sizes within a range can be achieved. Mandrels with sizes 1/2" to 7/8" feature one sleeve, while those from 1" to 2" have two sleeves. All mandrels are hardened and ground for durability.
