The Machine Combination Drill allows for the creation of a pilot hole and the threading of a passage in a single operation, without needing to switch tools. A helical drill precedes the tap. Only the threads of through holes up to a maximum threading depth of 2xD can be created. These combined taps are suitable for universal use on medium resistance materials: unalloyed and alloyed steel up to 600 N/mm², malleable cast iron, spheroidal graphite cast iron, copper, brass, aluminum, aluminum, magnesium, and zinc alloys, brass or red bronze, electronics, and die-cast zinc. Use is recommended on variable speed machines for drilling and tapping. Adapt the tool to the desired operation, drilling or tapping. Avoid using a pressure-compensating tap mandrel.
