The Marathon Ephebe - Young Man is thought to have been the work of Praxiteles, dating to the 4th century BC. It was caught in fishermen's nets in the Bay of Marathon in 1925. The original full size bronze statue is in the National Museum in Athens. Some think that it is a representation of Hermes, god of transitions. All our bronze items are cast in Greece using the traditional 'lost wax' method. Each piece is therefore unique. It was made in Greece, stands 9.4 inches high and weighs approximately 2.9 kg.
