Limestone is a sedimentary rock composed principally of calcium carbonate (calcite) or the double carbonate of calcium and magnesium (dolomite). Our Tennessee Limestone is quarried in Tennessee, lightly washed, packaged and shipped all within the U.S.A. Our bagged limestone is the perfect size for use for potted plant bedding, small landscape projects, science classroom specimens, Aquarium rock, etc. We lighlty wash the stone and dry it to keep the majority of the calcium residue at a minimum (dust is created when the stone is crushed). There will be some limestone calcium residue that will remain.
