These semi-metallic brake shoes meet or exceed manufacturer's specifications and contain NO asbestos. These brake shoes are comprised of advanced compounds including copper, alloy and other metallic elements. The advantage of this is the shoes will provide much better heat dissipation, increased wear life, better friction co-efficiency, low dusting, and excellent stopping power. These brake shoes are water grooved. Grooved shoes are slotted to better aid in channeling water, dust and dirt away from the braking surface. As brake shoes rub against the drum, a small amount of dust is generated. The grooves are designed to help direct the dust away from the braking surface of the shoes. These brake shoes sets include the brake springs. With repetitive use over time, brake springs will stretch and weaken. It is always recommended to change your brake springs when you change your brake shoes.
