As shown. See all photos. Belonged to my maternal grandmother, I’d reckon. Like all the rest. Also akin to the rest, they bear a slight musty odor. Stored for decades, I know not how or where. When my mom relocated to NY in 2012, she uprooted and brought everything, so no idea where they were stored when in WI.
Pre-owned but fully functional and still so beautiful.
“A lovely pair of hand sewn ladies' rich tan leather day gloves, made in the UK in the 1950's. The gloves were made by Webb’s of Hertford and stamped ‘Antello,' which could possibly mean that the leather is antelope. The leather is a buffed grain and the softest leather I have ever felt, the hand stitching is a mid brown tone.”
“Webb’s Leather and Glove Factory
Having worked in the leather industry, William Webb, in 1885, began his own company of leather dressers at Avern Mills, East Molesley. In 1891, he transferred his business to Hertford where he took out a lease on the former oil cake factory at Horns Mill.“
