This bullet was found in Lynchburg Tennessee and historians have connected it to Nathan Bedford Forrest’s campaign. It was found on the land of one of the previous master distillers of Jack Daniels, with their permission of course.
This bullet is listed in “Civil War Collectors Price Guide Tenth Edition 2003” as M & M 611 and was valued then at $300 and up. This is an extremely scarce find as the gun used to fire this was very old at the time of the civil war.
This bullet appeared in publications . A confederate sword was found near it on the same land.

A local historian linked this bullet to Nathan Bedford Forrrest’s company traveling through this area (known fact) with his troops, including his slaves that joined him from his plantation. Historian theorizes that because this was fired from a model British Sea Service (Navy) Smooth Bore Rifle which was old and outdated at this time it was most likely carried by a slave in the company.
