A cane collector/expert opined that the cane
was made for a British gentleman in 1842
Inserted in the end of the handle is a button
inscribed "J. W. B. to W. M. 1842". The eyehole
and blade are also evidence validating its age.
The finish on the handle and a short length of the shaft
are worn away indicating many years of actual use.
