The prongs are secure and tight. Their sort of fleur de lis looking in nature.The filigree work on the pin is excellent and actually there is not really any plate loss showing thru. The clasp is a regular pin bar with a roll over clasp. It is not a "C" clasp like a lot of Victorian pieces I've seen. That being said it is also extremely well made not tinny like so many modern pieces. The pin measures 1 and 1/8 inches tall and wide. All in all a lovely piece.
I've had this one for quite awhile now - I always look for ornate hair when searching for cameos and her's is exceptional. She also has a great nose. I'm not quite sure if this piece wasn't a marriage at some point in time but I could be wrong.
