I’ve owned these for about 45 years and they are in excellent condition. Four domed crystal flower frogs with 9 holes; the center hole can hold a candle or flower stems. The flower frogs were made by VMC in Reims, France. The name stands for “Verreries Mécaniques Champenoise”. These are 3” across and 2 1/8” tall, and fit into silverplate cups/bases marked “EF1” and “France”. “EF1” is a high quality silverplate hallmark. The crystal flower frogs are signed “Reims”, “France” and each has a number.
VMC was founded by an accountant in 1911. It flourished into the 60’s and had over 2,000 employees. It was taken over by Owens Illinois and closed in 2009.
These make a beautiful table, whether you use them with candles or just flower stems. They are simple and elegant.
