Own a lightly worn, vintage hat from an historic European manufacturer, rare to find in the US.
PolkaP hats, produced by the Skoczów-based Skoczowska Fabryka Kapeluszy Polkap S.A., represent one of Poland's most enduring and prominent hat manufacturing traditions. The company traces its origins to 1924, but the factory’s roots reach back even further, originally founded in Czechoslovakia under the name Hückel & Sons by a Jewish Austrian entrepreneur during the Austro-Hungarian era, the Skoczow factory, post war became a separate, wholly Polish company. PolkaP is noted for producing wool and rabbit fur felt hats using traditional techniques and has been a cornerstone of Polish manufacturing for over a century.
The Davos style hat has a unique fur finish, a 2 inch brim and a 4 3/4 inch crown (as creased). The hat is marked as a size 57 (7 1/8 US), but fits closer to a 56 (7 US). Please see photos for details
