High quality and beautifully saturated specimen of rich raspberry pink Halite on Trona from Owens Lake in California, USA. Halite is a sodium chloride crystal part of the cubic system. Owens is an endorheic dry lake where surface waters drain into nearby basins, evaporate and leave mineral rich deposits behind. It becomes pink after mixing with sodium, potassium, and boron. The unique growth is evident in the hoppered cubic and geometric salt crystal forms, where the outer edges grow much faster than the hollow centers- resulting in the cube patterns. This unique specimen has been professionally dyed in a stunning ombre of rich and deep strawberry pink to bubblegum with accents of golden peach. The lustrous crystals are perfectly preserved and defined in the radiant hues. The halite UV fluorescent, glowing vivid neon yellow, pink and green with phantom zoning. The cabinet sized display piece measures approx 6.5 by 5cm.
