The Portmeirion Christmas Story pattern was designed by folk artist Susan Winget to illustrate the popular "A Visit from St. Nicholas" poem published in 1823 by Clement Clarke Moore.
Pieces in the Christmas Story pattern feature different lines from Moore's poem and an accompanying illustration for extra holiday fun!
This cake stand is skillfully handcrafted in fine translucent porcelain and beautifully detailed in deep holiday tones with Santa in his reindeer guided sleigh full of toys flying over houses & the phrase "He sprang to his sleigh to his team gave a whistle" around the rim.
It has the PORTMEIRION Studio maker's mark inside the base.
In excellent preowned condition with no scratches, chips or cracks. The image is clear and pristine.
