Accelerate Platinum Ruthenium on High Surface Area Carbon (Series PR-H) catalysts are high-performance anode catalysts designed for Direct Methanol Fuel Cells (DMFCs) and Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFCs).

  • In DMFCs, PtRu alloys supported on high surface area carbon significantly enhance the methanol oxidation reaction (MOR), reducing overpotential and increasing current density. Compared to conventional monometallic Pt catalysts in PEMFC anodes, PtRu alloys demonstrate superior CO tolerance, maintaining stable catalytic activity even in hydrogen streams containing trace amounts of CO, thereby improving system stability and lifetime.
  • Accelerate catalysts are developed using innovative patented alloying technology, designed to dramatically improve fuel cell performance and durability. Independent laboratory tests show that Accelerate PtRu catalysts deliver up to twice the performance of conventional PtRu catalysts, with excellent cycling stability and structural integrity.
  • The Accelerate PtRu/C catalysts are also available on corrosion-resistant carbon supports, meeting the high demands of automotive fuel cell stacks and long-term electrochemical systems.
