Using a perfect mix of expensive endorsement deals and cheap overseas manufacturing, Apex One became one of the biggest licensed apparel producers of the early 1990s. Despite millions in revenues, Apex never turned a profit and became another victim of the licensed sportswear bubble that burst in the mid 1990s. By 1995, they were bought out by Converse in an ill fated deal that contributed to the footwear company's bankruptcy years later.
