Vtg Antique Chinese Export Porcelain Covered Box Turquoise Peony Floral Jar Mark

Vintage / antique Chinese export porcelain covered box, dating to the late Qing to early Republic period (circa 1895–1915). Decorated in famille rose (fencai) overglaze enamels with large peony floral motifs on a turquoise ground, and finished with a molded fruit-form finial on the lid. The base is stamped CHINA in red, the export country mark used before 1921 in compliance with U.S. import regulations.


This piece is hand-painted, not transfer printed. The enamel colors are soft and layered, typical of Canton / Guangzhou workshop production for export during this era.


Condition:

There is visible enamel loss / flaking in the center of several flower blossoms where the overglaze enamel has worn or chipped with age (see close-up photos). This is surface enamel loss only — the underlying porcelain body is intact, and there are no cracks, hairlines, or structural repairs.
