ABOUT THE ARTIST: Wilhelm Schlote (b.March 4th, 1946) in Lüdenscheid Germany. In 1976 Wilhelm Schlote received the "German Youth Book Prize" for his book - Today I wish for a hippopotamus. At the same time, the first Cartoon postcards were produced, sold worldwide and known as "Schlote Karten" - Astrid Lindgren quote: "The most beautiful thing I've ever seen at the Frankfurt Book Fair - the Schlotekarten!" Wilhelm Schlote also works as a freelancer for the FAZ - Die Zeit - Merkur - Welt am Sonntag - Schöner Wohnen. This published his first city posters, which are now known and loved far beyond the German border. This is followed by a major award in France - the Calvet Academy - gives Wilhelm Schlote a prize for his drawings.
