The Graduated hard ND kit contains a Nuances Extreme neutral degraded GND4 filter, a GND8 filter and a GND16 filter, all 3 have a hard transition, i.e. very short between the densest filter (ND8 or 3 absorption stops) and the most transparent part. A GND8 filter with a hard transition is especially necessary when using a long focal length or a digital camera equipped with an M4/3 sensor. The use of a graduated filter with a very fast transition is also suitable for a landscape with a very bright background such as a sky, which has a straight line boundary with a darker foreground. A typical example is a horizon line over the ocean that is part of a view for which we want to densify the sky homogeneously. In terms of robustness, the NUANCES Extreme filters are made of a very resistant hardened mineral glass that can withstand an accidental fall, depending on the inclination of the filter.
