Up for sale is a vintage 1949 Kagome Japanese menko card depicting Jesus Christ, from an early postwar educational/trivia series produced in Japan. This example is the oversized large-format version, measuring approximately 2 3/4" x 5 3/8" — much larger than standard menko cards of the era.
The front features a vivid portrait of Jesus with a halo, while the back includes Japanese text giving background information about his life and teachings. The bottom markings include the Kagome publisher logo and a menko number, confirming it as part of this rare educational release.
Condition: Fair vintage condition. There are visible creases, corner wear, and surface wear signs consistent with age. Colors remain strong and text is fully legible.
This is a scarce and historic piece of early postwar Japanese print culture, and oversized versions like this are much harder to find.
