From the personal collection of Foreman Lebold. George Dewey attained the highest rank of Admiral of the Navy. He was equal to a 5 Star Admiral until 1944 when the Navy created the Fleet Admiral rank. Admiral Dewey was the hero of the Battle of Manila Bay in 1998. This letter is on historic letterhead as well as the envelope. The envelope contains a hard to find color of the 2 cent Washington stamp. Both are circa 1910. Beautiful and historic paper Americana. Sold as is. Paper is in very good condition, the envelope has a small crinkle in the bottom left corner. No returns.
