The Gilded Palace of Sin (1969) is the debut album by The Flying Burrito Brothers, often hailed as one of the foundational masterpieces of country-rock. Formed by ex-Byrds members Gram Parsons and Chris Hillman.
Its influence is massive. Lucinda Williams, Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers—pretty much everyone who plays “country” with guitars that aren’t programmed by Nashville computers—traces a direct line back to Gilded Palace. Bob Dylan called it his favorite country-rock album.
