A charming example of Edwardian English ceramics, this Royal Devon biscuit barrel by S. Fielding & Co. presents a richly hand-decorated floral palette in warm cream, rose, and violet tones, framed by raised gilt scrollwork that softens the contours of the vessel. The body is of the classic waisted form favored at the turn of the century, giving the piece both elegance and presence on a sideboard or tea table. The underside bears the Royal Devon crown mark along with “S.F. & Co. England,” in use circa 1891–1917, placing this piece in the late Victorian to Edwardian era.
