This listing is for a first edition, of THE EMERALD CITY OF OZ by L. Frank Baum. This book was published by Reilly & Britton of Chicago in 1910. It features gorgeous illustrations by John R. Neill.
This copy is bound in green cloth. There is a blue version, also by Reilly & Britton, rare that 2 different first editions printed independently.
Overall, it's in good shape. It shows the most wear on the cover and spine (see photos), as well as cracked hinges. Despite this, the binding is still fairly tight and solid. Internal pages show the usual yellowing with minimal rips, chips, or folded edges. Original color plates are accounted for and intact (though one is detached, see pic.). The color plates in this book are so fanciful. This book belonged to Mary Louise Mann, and it says so in pencil. Other than that, no writing that I noticed. Rare. Good book. Delicate but readable copy.
