Beautiful large 13"+ diameter hand-painted wooden plate/charger with a classic example of Russian floral folk art. Large colorful blossoms in an exceptionally beautiful symmetrical design on a shiny black lacquer background. There is a small string hanger on the back which may need to be reinforced as this is a heavy piece of art - about 1.25 pounds. Still has original price & origin tag which I believe says "Museum of Folk or Contemporary Art" & has a price of 44 Russian rubles which should give a clue to its era, but the ruble fluctuated wildly due to the collapse of the Soviet Union in the 1990's (it could be much older). Excellent pre-owned condition.
