Marked 1139, Three Bowls with a handle, wonderful gold with a very Victorian lady in all her finery in front of her manse.
Rare with the handle. Nice gold trim, No chips cracks or splits,no crazing. Like no wear to the gold , pretty much new. An embossed B on the underside.
Manufacturer of bone china and earthenware at the Empire Works, Stoke Rd, Stoke-on-Trent from about 1896.The company used the ‘Empire Ware’ and ‘Shelton Ivory’ trade names and these appear on most wares from the 1920s and 1930s in addition to the word ‘Empire’ or the full company name. The Empire ornamental wares, in particular, are little known and under-appreciated.
We do not alter any items sold; they are listed the way they were found. We get the dust and dirt off, but all serious cleaning/polishing and repairs are the decision of the purchaser
