This is an excellent piece of American waterfowling history, representing the transition from wooden and fiber decoys to plastic in the mid-1960s. This decoy is a unique find due to its specific brand association and intact original label.
Rare Olt Branding: This decoy features the iconic "ANOTHER Phil Olt Jr. Fine Sport Product" paper label. Phil Olt Jr. was the son of P.S. Olt, the legendary manufacturer of Olt Duck Calls (Pekin, IL). Decoys bearing the Olt name are highly sought after by collectors of Olt memorabilia and accessories.
The bottom is embossed with the copyright "COPYRIGHT 1964 J.S. McGUIRE." McGuire was a well-known designer associated with the popular Feather-Lite plastic decoys of the era.
